Swimming and Diving Completes Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Georgia Southern swimming & diving team completed the Gamecock Invitational Saturday night. The Eagles finished seventh amongst a strong field of talented teams.

Georgia Southern picked up their first two finalist of the day in the 200 Breast. Ashley White (Charlotte, N.C.) finished 19th with a time of 2:27.69. Kristen Haudenschild (Woodbridge, Va.) placed 22nd with a new season-high time of 2:28.62.

Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio) gave the Eagles their highest finish of the day in the 200 Fly. Parr finished 14th with a time of 2:06.88.

Lindsay Goodman (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the Eagles in the 200 Back. Goodman finished 26th with a time of 2:10.91. Lindsay Mullican (Lancaster, Pa.) placed 29th with a time of 2:11.96. Holly Hirsch (Fort Mill, S.C.) and Alex Mitchell (Maitland, Fla.) finished back-to-back and both improved on their previous season-best times. Hirsch placed 34th with a time o f 2:15.34, and Mitchell came in 35th place (2:15.69).

Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) led the way in the 100 Free, finishing 25th with a time of 53.09. Ali Campbell (Alberta, Canada) and Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.) finished back-to-back in 31st and 32nd place. Both improved on their previous season-high times. Campbell finished 31st with a time of 53.83, and Bevillard came in 32nd with a mark of 53.84.

Campbell opened the finals with a 10th place finish in the 1650 Free. Mullican placed 22nd with a time of 17:55.82.

White and Haudenschild finished back-to-back in 22nd and 23rd place in the 200 Breast. White finished with a time of 2:28.48, and Haudenschild recorded a time of 2:28.69.

Parr picked up six points with a 11th place finish in the 200 Fly (2:05.69).

Georgia Southern's 400 Free Relay team finished 12th with a time of 3:34.07.
