Martz and Lynch Honored by CCSA
STATESBORO, Ga. - Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) and Alden Lynch (Jacksonville, Fla.) were honored by the CCSA for their performance against Campbell Friday. Martz won four events and set a pool record in the 199-63 home-opening win. Lynch won both the 1 and 3 meter diving events.
Senior Martz combined with Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio), Caitlin Martin (Lilburn, Ga.) and Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.) to tally a first-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay. They finished with a time of 3:59.60, which ranks second in the CCSA and set a RAC pool record.
Martz was also a part of Georgia Southern's other relay win, the 200 Free Relay. Martz, Ali Campbell (Alberta, Canada), Laurie Stephens (Atlanta, Ga.) and Jordyn Pasley (Knoxville, Tenn.) combined for a time of 1:39.55, the second best this season for the Eagles.
In the individual events Martz won the 50 Free and 200 Back. She finished first in the 50 Free with a time of 24.36. In the 200 Back, Martz recorded another first-place finish with a time of 2:06.14. She also set a pool record with that time.
Lynch won both diving events, scoring a 188.85 in the 1-meter dive and a career-best 223.45 in the 3-meter dive.
The Eagles will be back in action November 19th at the Gamecock Invitational.
