Bevillard Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team
STATESBORO, Ga. - For the second time in as many years, Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving's Caroline Bevillard (Athens, Ga.) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team for District III. A second-team selection last season, Bevillard added first-team honors this season as she completed her collegiate career with a 3.96 GPA. Twice honored as the Georgia Southern Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2010 and 2011, Bevillard was recently awarded one of 13 prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships in the spring of 2011.
In the pool, Bevillard was a four-year letterwinner for the Eagles and owns the University record for the 200-yard Freestyle and was a member of four record-setting relay teams. At the 2011 CCSA Championships, Bevillard scored points in all three individual appearances and participated in four relay teams at the championships.
A member of the CCSA All-Academic team, Bevillard posted a perfect 4.0 GPA for seven semesters of her academic career and also helped the Georgia Southern to six consecutive College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team honors. She earned her degree in Sport Management and participated in Georgia Southern University's Commencement Ceremony last Saturday.
