Robyne Siliga Selected to All-Region Team
The Oceanside, Calif. native becomes the third player in school history to receive all-region honors, joining Shanita Black (2006) and Crystal Crews (2002).
Siliga, the 2008 Southern Conference Player of the Year, finished the season with a team-high .379 average, 11 home runs and 54 runs batted in. Her homer and RBI totals are both second-best in a single-season at Georgia Southern and her .609 slugging percentage was also second and the highest in 22 years.
On March 15 she became the school’s career home run leader and currently has 26. She recorded a .500 on base percentage this season which leads the league.
Siliga was named the SoCon’s player of the week twice and was the player of the month for March.
