Streetmon Named SoCon Pitcher of the Year

Georgia Southern also had six players named All-Conference and two named to the All-Freshman team. The Eagles tied with Chattanooga for the most All-Conference honorees. Each had six first and second team selections.

Streetmon becomes just the second Eagle to be named pitcher of the year. The sophomore pitcher led the league in ERA (2.05) and wins (14). Streetmon also earned first team All-Conference honors. Vanessa Fawcett earned the award in her senior year for Georgia Southern (1996).

Fogle becomes the fifth Eagle to be named freshman of the year after batting .325 and stealing 12 bases.

Streetmon, Nina Iduate (Norcross, Ga.), Fogle and Megen Smith (Springfield, Ga.) were named first team All-Conference. Iduate is making her second appearance on the first team after hitting .342 this year. Smith, a second team selection a year ago, hit .337 with two home runs and 17 RBIs at the plate and went 3-6 with a 3.83 ERA and four saves on the mound this season.

Sam Russo (Snellville, Ga.) and Amanda Hall (Haddock, Ga.) represented Georgia Southern on the second team.

Hanna Ennis (Snellville, Ga.) and Fogle earned All-Freshman honors this season. Ennis hit .315 with a home run and 12 RBIs in the regular season.
