Women's Soccer Concludes Regular Season Play Against Davidson
STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern Women’s Soccer team closes out 2010 regular season play welcoming Davidson for a Southern Conference matchup Thursday, October 28 at 4 p.m. The contest will be the final regular season match for both teams.
Georgia Southern (5-12-0, 2-8-0) wraps up this three-match homestand coming off a 3-0 loss to Samford. Sara Oland (Evans, Ga.) continues to pace the Eagle offense with eight goals on the season. Three players lead the team with two assists each. Goalkeepers Katie Merson (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Missy Meyer (Alpharetta, Ga.) have combined for 70 saves on the season. Primary goalkeeper Merson owns 57.
Davidson (6-8-4, 2-4-4) is coming off a 1-0 win over visiting Chattanooga to close out its home slate Sunday. With the win, the Wildcats finished the 2010 season undefeated at home. Three Wildcats each own three goals on the season to lead the offense, while six others all have one goal on the year. Allison Drutchas, one of the three with three goals, also leads the team in assists with seven. Three goalies have split time in the net this season with Jessie Baxa picking up 67 saves. Christy Carry owns 17, while Ranae Carins has eight on the season for 92 total between the trio.
