Women's Soccer Announces Class of 2012
"We are thrilled to have the commitment of so many quality players for our 2012 class," said Vanderspiegel. "Our recruiting efforts have earned us players that we believe will come in and compete for playing time right away and help elevate our team to the next level. We were able to secure players that will compete at every position on the field."

Abbey Ritter is a goalscoring defender/midfielder from Davidsonville, Md. Ritter scored 28 goals last season with the Severn School and also plays for Freestate Elite ECNL. She has been a member of both Delaware and Maryland ODP.
Jessie Eberhardt played at Atlanta Fire ECNL and North Gwinnett High School before joining the squad at Georgia Southern. Her North Gwinnett team has won the Georgia AAAAA State Championships for the past two years. A defender, Eberhardt is from Suwanee, Ga.
Gabby Watson comes to the Eagles from the IMG Soccer Academy. She played high school soccer at East Bay High School and was named All-Western Conference by the Tampa Bay Times following her junior season of play.
Heather Kirkover played her High School soccer at Triad High School in Troy, Ill. The goalkeeper, was selected to represent her club, St. Louis Scott Gallagher on the ECNL teams for the last two seasons.
Brooke Sulerzyski joins the Eagle family from Severna Park, Md. A defender/midfielder, Sulerzyski played for the Severn School, Bethesda Freedom ECNL, and MD State ODP. Her scholastic play has earned her All Conference honors for 2010 and 2011.
Abria Allen, who committed to join the Eagles last spring, hails from West Georgia FC. A forward, she also played at Lovejoy High School in Hampton, Ga where she was selected for All-Region honors.
Caitlin Tongco is an attacking player from Woodstock, Ga., who played her prep career at Cherokee High School. Tongco was recognized by TopDrawerSoccer and ESPN Rise as a player to watch in the class of 2012.
Sydnee Weidner, a native of Colorado Springs, Co., joins Georgia Southern following a high school career at Air Academy High School. Weidner played forward for Pride Predators and won a pair of state championships at Denver Rush Nike. She also was a member of the CO ODP State team.
Emily Gossen is a goalkeeper from Charleston, S.C. who led her team to the Class AA South Carolina State Championship with Academic Magnet High School. She also played for South Carolina United and S.C. ODP.
Jenna Moore joins the Eagles from Centennial High School and Concorde Fire ECNL where she captained her team alongside fellow future Eagle Katey Lippitt. A defender/midfield, Moore is from Roswell, Ga.
Cori Dulmage, a native of Alpharetta, Ga., was a midfielder for Creekview High School, earning All-Cherokee County honors as a sophomore from both the Cherokee Ledger and Cherokee Tribune. She was a two-time Offensive MVP at Creekview as well as earning a spot on the 2011 Georgia ODP Team. Dulmage also played her club soccer for GA Rush,
Renee Nance is a defender from Alpharetta, Ga. She joins the Eagles following a playing career at Alpharetta High School and Atlanta Fire ECNL. Nance, a captain and two-time MVP at Alpharetta, earned All Region 6-AAAAA honors for her play last year.
Taylor Sarratt joins her hometown Georgia Southern Eagles following a standout career at Statesboro High School earning all-region honors twice. The defender/midfielder was also a solid performer for West Georgia FC.
Emily Hirano, a forward from Watkinsville, Ga., is standout player from North Oconee High School. She was named a 2010 All-Area performer by the Banner-Herald. She also played for Atlanta Fire ECNL.
Nora El-Shami is a combination midfielder/forward from Milton, Ga. A standout for Milton High School and GA Rush, her high school squad reached the state playoffs for the last two seasons before falling to North Gwinnett both times.Cassidy Elrod is a proven goal scorer at Flowery Branch High School and for GA Rush. Elrod, a forward, scored a hat trick against North Forsyth last season. She tallied 21 goals on the season. A native of Braselton, Ga., Elrod also picked up First Team All-Area honors from The Gainesville Times. She was also named District 8-AAAA Player of the Year.
Katey Lippitt from Lawrenceville, Ga. is a nominee for the Inspireum Award which honors the most outstanding young soccer players in the nation. A product of Peachtree Ridge High School and Concorde Fire ECNL, Lippitt plays in defense.
Molly Donehoo played her High School soccer at St. Pius X Catholic High School where she helped lead them to a 2010 and 2011 State Championship run. A native of Clarkson, Ga., she also played in defense for GSU Phoenix Red.
Stephanie Gratto joins the Eagles following a prep career at Eastport South Manor High School and played club soccer at Smithtown Attack. A native of Manorville, N.Y., Gratto is a midfielder/forward, and was recognized by ESPN Rise as one of New York's top prospects.
Callie O'Conner was rated as a top prospect by ESPN Rise as a forward from Milton, Ga. She played at Milton High School as well as Atlanta Fire ECNL. Callie was recently invited to the ECNL National ID Camp that will take place next month.
Nicole Ruggieri, a midfielder from Dacula, GA, joins the Eagles after a successful prep career with Atlanta Fire ECNL and Mill Creek High School.
The Eagles will announce the 2012 schedule of games in the upcoming weeks and months, as well as additional student-athletes joining the Georgia Southern family.
