Cross Country Finishes Twenty-Second at Charlotte Invitational

Charlotte, N.C. - Georgia Southern Cross Country placed twenty-second at the Charlotte Invitational Friday afternoon, led by junior Sarah Curry (Lawrenceville, Ga.) who placed 79th overall in a field of nearly 300 runners. Curry's time of 18:49.66 broke her previous personal best time set at Charlotte in 2010 and was the fourth-best time in Georgia Southern history for the 5K.

Freshmen Rebecca and Rachel Greenwall (Bogart, Ga.) were the second and third Eagles to cross the finish line, placing 103rd and 175th, respectively. Brittani Martin (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Megan Sullivan (Huntersville, N.C.) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles.

Virginia Tech placed five runners inside the top-20 to bring home the title at historic McAlpine Park.

The Eagles will have a week to prepare before hitting the running trails again at the Jaguar Invitational on Saturday, October 8 in Evans, Ga.
