Cross Country Finishes Third in the Citadel Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Georgia Southern cross country team finished third out of six teams in the Citadel Invitational. The Eagles recorded their third straight top half finish.

Laura Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) paced the Eagles, finishing 22nd with a time of 20.27.09.

Kassi Lee (Elberton, Ga.) finishing 24th with a new season best time of 20:34.08. Brittani Martin (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Sara Curry (Lawrenceville, Ga.) crossed the line right behind Lee. Martin finished 25th with a time of 20:46.09. Curry set a new personal best with a mark of 20:46.09.

Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) finished just behind the Eagles' leading trio of runners. Robillard improved on her time from the Elon Invitational and placed 29th with a time of 20:59.33.

Shauntel Jennings (Stone Mountain, Ga.) improved on her time from the Elon Invitational and finished 31st with a time of 21:08.89.

Heather McAllister (Cartersville, Ga.) continued the trend and improved on her time from the last meet. McAllister finished 32nd with a time of 21:24.35.

Leah Bradley (McDonough, Ga.) finished three places behind McAllister with a mark of 21:46.11. Morgan Jefferson (Villa Rica, Ga.) crossed the line right behind Bradley with a time of 21:47.49.

The final group of Eagles finished 39th, 40th and 41st. Talisha Rice (Stockbridge, Ga.) set a new personal best and shaved nearly 50 seconds off her time. Rice finished 39th with a time of 22:06.40. Amanda Tennyson (Grayson, Ga.) finished 40th with a mark of 22:22.14. Molly McBrearty (Macon, Ga.) finished 41st with a time of 22:52.45.

The Eagles return to action October 2nd at the Charlotte Invitational.
