Cross Country is Set to Compete in the Charlotte Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern cross country team awaits Friday's Charlotte Invitational. The 5K meet is scheduled for 4 p.m. at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C.

The Charlotte Invitational features 24 teams, including SoCon foes College of Charleston, UNC Greensboro, Western Carolina and Wofford.

The Eagles are coming off a strong performance at the Citadel Invitational last Saturday. GSU recorded its third top-five finish with a third place finish last weekend. Laura Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) paced the Eagles with a time of 20:27.09.

Kassi Lee (Elberton, Ga.) continues to improve on her time this season and set a new season high (20:34.08).

Freshmen Sara Curry (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and Talisha Rice (Stockbridge, Ga.) continued to improve and set new season bests. Curry finished 26th with a time of 20:46.09. Rice crossed the line in 39th place with a time of 22:06.40.
