Women's Basketball Hits the Road for Two Contests

■ Georgia Southern heads back on the road for two games, beginning with a 4 p.m. contest at UNCG Saturday.
■ The Eagles play at Elon Monday night, and following that contest, seven of their last 10 games of the season will be at home. Seven of GSU's first 10 SoCon games this season have been on the road.
■ GSU is still searching for its first true road win of the season and is 0-10. The Eagles are 0-5 in road SoCon games.
■ Georgia Southern is coming off a 61-58 home victory over Wofford last Sunday.
■ Four of GSU's last eight games have been decided by a basket or less, and the Eagles are 2-2.
■ MiMi DuBose is leading the team in scoring at 14.6 points a game. The junior ranks ninth on the GSU career list in 3-pointers (116) and posted career highs of 27 points and eight rebounds at CofC (1/5).
■ DuBose has led the Eagles in scoring in 13 contests this season and passed the 500-point mark for her career with 21 in a win over Kent State Nov. 24.
■ Meredyth Frye has led the Eagles in scoring and rebounding in each of the last two seasons. The senior is 107 points away from the 1,000 mark for her career.
■ Anna Claire Knight is averaging 9.3 points and a team-high 5.8 rebounds a game. The sophomore has led the team in scoring three times.
■ UNCG has lost its last eight and is coming off an 88-48 setback at Davidson Wednesday.
■ The last four of those eight have come on the road against Furman, Elon, Appalachian State and Davidson.
■ Saturday's game will be the Spartans' 10th home game, and they are 3-6. UNCG is 0-3 in home SoCon games with losses to College of Charleston, Chattanooga and Samford.
■ Four freshmen are averaging 19 minutes or more for the Spartans, led by leading scorer and SoCon Freshman of the Year candidate Lucy Mason. Mason averages 14.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game.
■ Janae' Stevenson averages 11.2 points and 7.7 rebounds an outing.
■ The Eagles were picked ninth in the Southern Conference Preseason Coaches and Media Polls. UNCG was picked 11th in both polls.
■ UNCG leads the all-time series, which began in 1997, 20-16.
■ The teams have split the last eight meetings, and three of those games have been decided by four points or less.
■ Georgia Southern topped UNCG 59-47 in the last meeting, which took place in Hanner Fieldhouse.

■ The Eagles opened SoCon play at Davidson Dec. 1. It's the fourth straight season GSU has opened league play on the road. The Eagles' first three league games were on the road.
■ The Eagles' 13 steals at Georgia State were the most since posting 17 against Wofford Jan. 24, 2011.
■ GSU's 71 points against Kent State were the most the Eagles have scored against a Division I opponent since a 72-49 win over Jacksonville State Nov. 26, 2011.
■ The Eagles' 24-point margin of victory over the Golden Flashes was their most over a Division I opponent since topping Mercer 76-45 Dec. 11, 2009.
■ Since the 2010-11 season, Georgia Southern has five losses by one point and 11 losses by five points or less. The Eagles have suffered three losses by four points or less this season.
■ GSU finished the 2012-13 campaign with a 1-8 record in non-conference games. Five of those opponents (James Madison, Stetson, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Mercer) have winning records, and those squads have combined for a 55-33 mark (as of 1/23).
