Melson Named Director of Basketball Operations at CofC
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Former Georgia Southern Women's Basketball player Ashley Melson has been named Director of Basketball Operations at the College of Charleston. The former Eagle played from 2006-09 for Head Coach Rusty Cram in Statesboro and spent last year as an assistant coach at East Georgia College in Swainsboro.
"Ashley had a great career here, and we are excited that she is getting into the coaching field," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Rusty Cram.
One of eighteen Lady Eagles to score more than 1,000-point scorers in Georgia Southern history, Melson finished her career with 1,094 career points. At East Georgia College she helped lead a first-year program to a winning record.
