Flynn Named SoCon Player of the Month
Flynn (Dublin, Ireland) closed out his collegiate career undefeated in the month of April. Flynn went 4-0 in both singles and doubles action and was responsible for clinching three of the four GSU matches in the month with wins against South Carolina State (4-3), Chattanooga (5-2) and Samford (4-3). In addition, paired with Jayraj Jadeja, the doubles tandem clinched the Chattanooga point and was the lone doubles win against UNC Greensboro.
The senior defeated both David Grund (South Carolina State) and Jackson Tresnan (Chattanooga) in straight sets and battled back from a set down against Timion Meija of UNC Greensboro. Flynn dropped the first set 6-3, but responded with 6-0 and 7-5 second and third sets, respectively, to take the match. Facing a split set match against Scott Fisher of Samford, Flynn hung strong and closed out a three-set win with a final 6-4 third set to clinch the overall match.
In doubles competition, Flynn and Jadeja won two matches in tiebreakers to remain undefeated in the month.
