Men?s Tennis Welcomes Coastal Carolina

STATESBORO, GA – The Georgia Southern men’s tennis team will look to remain undefeated on its home court when it welcomes Coastal Carolina, Friday, February 13, to wrap up a four-game homestand. First serve at the Hanner Tennis Complex is slated for 2:30 p.m.

Coming off a 7-0 sweep of Florida A&M (Feb. 8), the Eagles will look to defend a perfect 3-0 record when they face off against the Chanticleers on Friday. Georgia Southern took the doubles point for the third time this season against the Rattlers and dropped only two sets en route to six singles victories in the winning effort.

In three dual matches this season the Eagles have dropped only four matches combined. Georgia Southern boasts a 16-2 overall singles record and 7-2 doubles ledger. This marks the best start to a season since Justin Miles took the reign of the program in 2001.

Coastal Carolina also remains perfect on the season, boasting an overall 4-0 record including 7-0 sweeps over Coker and Mount Olive. The Chanticleers face Mercer on Thursday before traveling to Statesboro.

The last time the two teams met dates back ten years to 1999 when Georgia Southern claimed a 6-0 victory over Coastal Carolina.
