Men?s Tennis is set to Host the Quality Inn / Georgia Southern Invite

Statesboro, Ga. - The Men’s Tennis is hosting the Quality Inn / Georgia Southern Invite this weekend.

This will be the first action of the 2008 season for the Men’s Tennis team.

This year’s team features four seniors: Matthew Sands (Nassau, Bahamas), Joris De Weerdt (Mortsel, Belguim), Alonso Rodriguez (Lima, Peru) and Philip Prins (Cape Town, South Africa).

Sands went 6-10 in singles play last season.

Prins finished last season with a 6-14 singles record and 2-4 during conference play.

De Weerdt went 14-14 last season and played mainly the #2 position.

Rodriguez joins the team for his senior season after playing last season at St. Mary’s College in Texas.

The action is set to start Friday and go through Sunday.
