Men's Tennis Concludes the UNF Invitational

 

 

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Georgia Southern Men’s Tennis Team concluded the UNF Invitational Sunday at the UNF Tennis Courts.

 

Joris De Weerdt (Morsel, Belgium) and Matthew Sands (Nassau, Bahamas) won the A draw of doubles 9-8 (3). They defeated Milan Krnjetin and Alex Stamchev from Auburn.

 

In the A draw of singles, De Weerdt defeated Grega Teraz from ETSU 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 (7). He then faced Marc Abdelnour from Florida Atlantic and lost 6-3, 6-4.

 

Alonso Rodriguez (Lima, Peru) lost in the semifinals of C singles to K.C. Griffin 6-2, 6-4.

 

The Eagles return to action Thursday, October the 16th, at the ITA Southeast Regional in Lexington, Ky.
