The Men?s Tennis Team Will be participating in the UNF Invitational this Weekend
Statesboro, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Men’s Tennis Team is set to participate in the UNF Invitational this weekend.
The UNF Invitational features 13 men’s teams including: Auburn, Bethune-Cookman, Belmont, East Tennessee State, Florida Atlantic, Florida A&M, Jacksonville, Memphis, Mercer, South Carolina State, Troy and North Florida.
Joris De Weerdt (Mortsel, Belguim) is set to face Bastian Maucher from Troy on Friday at 11:15 am in the A draw of singles.
Gregory Bekkers (Antwerp, Belguim) is scheduled to face Dave Barton from Mercer on Friday in the A draw of singles.
In the B draw of singles Matthew Sands (Nassau, Bahamas) is scheduled to take on Forrest Jenkins at 12:45 pm.
Alain Garrido (Vigo, Spain) is set to face Gabriel Meana from South Carolina State at 1:15 pm in B draw singles action.
Edio Castanhel (Criciuma, Brazil) received a first round bye in the B draw.
Alonso Rodriguez (Lima, Peru), Phillip Prins (Cape Town, South Africa) and Mark Paetz (Munich, Germany) are participating in the C draw of singles.
Rodriguez will face Jeff Smallwood from Bethune-Cookman at 1:45 pm.
While Prins will square off with Aroon Khatter from Jacksonville at 2:15 pm and Paetz is set to face Cristofer Martin from Bethune-Cookman.
De Weerdt and Sands will receive a first round bye in the A draw of doubles.
In the B draw of doubles Bekkers and Prins will receive a first round bye, while Castanhel and Garrido will face off with Fausto Rocha and Javier Rodriguez from Belmont.
In the C draw of doubles Paetz and Rodriguez will face Vinny Craveiro and Marcos Oliveira from Jacksonville.
