Men?s Soccer Stops at Home for UNCG Sunday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Men's Soccer team returns home Sunday to face UNC Greensboro (4-5-1, 0-1 SoCon) at Eagle Field in a Southern Conference contest. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start. A free camp for Upward Soccer will be conducted by Georgia Southern players and coaches after the match and the first 50 fans will receive a free slice of Papa John's Pizza.

The Eagles, who stepped out of conference play this past week for a match at N.C. State, are 3-5-1overall and 0-2-0 in league play. Forwards Jon Cox (Marietta, Ga.) and Ethan LePan (Martinez, Ga.) share the team lead in points with eight, each with three goals and two assists.

The Spartans are 0-2 away from their home field this year, having lost their last two contests, the first a 1-3 match at High Point and the second a double overtime 0-1 match against conference foe Elon last Saturday. The two teams have two common opponents on the 2010 schedule, both facing High Point and Jacksonville.

This is the 20th meeting between the Eagles and the Spartans with a UNCG 15-1-3 advantage in the series. In the last three contests, the two teams have each recorded a win with one tie.
