Luigi Clendening Named SoCon Player of the Week
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Georgia Southern's Luigi Clendening was named the Southern Conference Men's Soccer player of the week for matches of September 27th through October 2nd.
The Eagle hit-man scored two goals in Georgia Southern's first victory over the College of Charleston in 25 years and leads the league with nine goals this season. A native of Augusta, Ga., Clendening leads the conference in goals with nine and ranks fifth in the nation in goals and points with 22.
The Eagles put their perfect 2-0 mark in league play to the test this evening against Furman. The Paladins are ranked fifth in the region and 23rd nationally in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire Rankings. The contest from Furman's Stone Stadium begins at 7 p.m.
