Men?s Soccer Travels to Davidson Saturday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern men’s soccer team is set to face Davidson Saturday at 1 p.m.

 

The Eagles are 5-8-0 (2-3-0) on the season and are trying to lock down the number four seed in the Southern Conference Tournament. Georgia Southern needs a loss from Appalachian State and a win over Davidson to move into the fourth seed.

 

The Eagles have been playing better of late and have won two of their last conference matches.

 

The Georgia Southern offense ranks sixth in the SoCon with 1.08 goals per game, while the defense ranks second in goals allowed.

 

The Davidson Wildcats come into the matchup with a 4-12-1 (2-4-0) record. The Wildcats rank seventh in goals per game and are allowing over two goals per game.

 

Davidson is coming off of a 1-0 win over Wofford Wednesday.

 

The Wildcats have owned the all-time series with a record of 18-5-1, and they won last season’s match 3-2 at Eagle Field.

 

The match is scheduled to kickoff at 1p.m. at Alumni Stadium in Davidson, N.C.
