Men?s Soccer Host UNC Greensboro Tuesday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern men’s soccer team will host UNC Greensboro Tuesday at Eagle Field at 2:00 p.m.

 

The Eagles enter the matchup with a 6-8-0 (3-3-0) record and have won three of their last four conference matches. Georgia Southern defeated Davidson 2-1 in their latest match in overtime on Sunday. The Eagles got scores from two different defenders in the match.

 

The Georgia Southern offense ranks seventh in goals scored, fifth in assists and seventh in points in the conference.

 

The Eagles’ defense ranks second in goals allowed and fourth in goals against average. They are allowing on average 1.33 goals per match.

 

The UNC Greensboro Spartans come to Statesboro with a 6-10-1 (2-4-0) record. The Spartans are coming off two straight home losses in conference play.

 

Their offense ranks fifth in goals per match, seventh in assists and seventh in points in the SoCon.

 

The UNC Greensboro rank seventh in goals allowed and goals against average. They are allowing on average 1.78 goals per match.

 

The Spartans have dominated the all-time series with a record off 14-0-2, and are on a two game winning streak after winning last year’s match 2-0.

 

The Eagles will need to record their first win in the series and hope for a College of Charleston loss in order to host the first round of the SoCon Tournament on Sunday at noon at Eagle Field.
