T.J. Holley Signs with Eagle Golf

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern University head golf coach Larry Mays announced the signing of T.J. Holley (Dublin/West Laurens) to a National Letter of Intent. Holley signed with the Eagles during the fall signing period and will begin play in the 2009-10 season.

Last summer Holley staged an impressive comeback during the final round to win his Club championship. He carded five birdies and an eagle over the final 12 holes to cap the come-from-behind win. Holley also has family ties with collegiate golf experience. His father and uncle both played collegiate golf, at Georgia College and Georgia Tech, respectively.

The Most Valuable Player for West Laurens HS, Holley helped his team to a 2007 regional title and runner-up finish his junior year. Also during his junior year he finished second in consecutive tournaments.

Not only has Holley excelled on the course, but in the classroom as well. He carries a 4.0 GPA and is an active member of the FFA.

“T.J. is a fine young man who will bring many intangibles with him to Statesboro. He has all the tools to become a good collegiate player,” said Mays. “We are happy T.J. decided to join our program and expect him to come in and add to our continued success.”
