Eagles Three Shots Back at Mason Rudolph Championships

Franklin, Tenn. - The Georgia Southern Golf team posted a 1-under par 283 on Saturday to move to 1-under par (567) for the tournament, trailing first place Oklahoma (564) by three strokes. Middle Tennessee State and Mississippi are tied for second at 3-under par (565) heading into the final round of play on Sunday.

Hayden Anderson (Knoxville, Tenn.) was the big mover on the day for the Eagles, shaving eight strokes off of his first round score with a 4-under 67. Scott Wolfes (St. Simons Island, Ga.) and Lewis Gruber (Tallahassee, Fla.) finished their round at even-par and Charlie Martin (LaGrange, Ga.) shot +3 (74) to round out the scoring for the Eagles.

"We got off to a slow start today, but we were able to rally and give ourselves a chance heading into the final round," said Head Coach Larry Mays. "We will need to post four solid scores tomorrow, but if we can do that than I like our chances."

The Mason Rudolph Championships is hosted by Vanderbilt University on the par-71, 7,100 yard South Course at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. Several premier programs make up this year's field including teams from the SEC and the Southern Conference.
