Golf in Ninth Place After Round Two at Landfall

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Georgia Southern shot a second round 314, identical to its first round score, to hold down ninth place at the Landfall Tradition. The tournament is played on the Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall.

 

The final 18 holes will take place on Sunday morning (Oct. 26).

 

Iowa saw its 22-stroke lead trimmed following its second round 312. The Hawkeyes are ahead of Tulsa by 11 strokes. Georgia Southern’s 628 puts the Eagles 13 strokes back of host UNC Wilmington in third place.

"It was another cold and rainy day today. The course was playing tough today and we didn't play well," said head coach Larry Mays. "We have our work cut out for us tomorrow if we want to finish strong."

 

Sophomore Logan Blondell is tied for 14th overall with a 9-over 153. Drew Lethem shot a team-low 75 in round two, tied for 31st overall with a 157.

 

Ryan LeFevre’s second round 83 gives him 158 overall, tied for 33th. Spencer Fulford carded a 79 in round two, a 163 overall tying him for 40th. Jordan Johnstun is three strokes back of Fulford, tying for 49th overall.
