Logan Blondell Named SoCon Golfer of the Month

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern University’s Logan Blondell (Lakeland, FL/Lakeland) earned his first-ever Southern Conference monthly award, being named the SoCon’s ‘Golfer of the Month’ for October. The league office announced the award Thursday (Nov. 6).

 

Blondell started the month by winning a two-hole playoff to capture the individual title at the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate. He opened the tournament with a career-low 67, en route to a 54-hole score of 212. Blondell won a two-hole playoff for his first collegiate individual title as the Eagles won their second tournament of the fall season.

 

He turned in another ‘Top 10’ finish at the Landfall Tradition. Thanks to a final round 1-under 71, Blondell tied for ninth overall with a 224.

 

The sophomore led the Eagles during the fall season averaging 72.92 in 12 rounds of competition.

 

Georgia Southern resumes its schedule in February 2009 at the Gator Invitational.
