Crimson Tide Continues to Lead at Schenkel
Statesboro, Ga. - With one day remaining in the 33rd annual Schenkel Invitational, Alabama leads the field after another impressive day at Forest Heights Country Club. The Crimson Tide shot 269 on Saturday, bringing their two-day total to 537 (-39). Only one player on the Crimson Tide shot over par on the day.
Virginia now sits in second place shooting 558 (-18). Auburn fell one spot, and now sits in third, with a two day total of 559 (17). Florida and UAB are tied in fourth with both team siiting at 565 (-11). Ole Miss is in sixth (-10), South Carolina is in seventh (-6), and North Florida now sits in eighth (-5). Kentucky is in ninth place (-4) and Notre Dame closes out the top-ten (+6). Minnesota is eleventh (+8), N.C. State is 12th (+11), Georgia Southern is 13th (+12) and Vanderbilt sits in 14th (+15) after round two.
Ben Kohles of Virginia continues to lead the field individually at 131 (-13). Alabama's Cory Whitsett sits in second at -12, and Blayne Barber of Auburn is in third (-11). Justin Thomas, Bobby Wyatt and Hunter Hamrick, all of Alabama, are in fourth (-10), fifth (-9) and sixth (-8), respectively.
Leading the way for Georgia Southern is Blake Olson (Pensacola, Fla.) who is tied for 31st and is even for the tournament. Scott Wolfes (St. Simons Island, Ga.) and Hayden Anderson (Knoxville, Tenn.) are both tied for 56th, 148 (+4). Lewis Gruber (Tallahassee, Fla.) is tied for 69th (+6), and Zach Hartman (St. Simons Island, Ga.) is tied for 74 (+7) to close out the scoring for GSU.
