Trio Recognized as All-Americans by Phil Steele Publications

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Sophomore nose tackle Brent Russell (Comer, Ga.), junior cornerback Laron Scott (Warner Robins, Ga.) and junior placekicker Adrian Mora (Dalton, Ga.) were selected to the Phil Steele Postseason FCS All-America team as released by the media organization Wednesday.

Russell, who is one of 20 finalists for the Buck Buchanan Award, earned first-team honors from the national publication. Russell finished the 2010 season with 71 total tackles and was nationally ranked in both the sacks (8.0 for a tie for 38th) and tackles for loss (18.5 for 50th ranking) categories.

Scott and Mora were named fourth team FCS All-Americans for 2010. Scott had 10 pass breakups on the season to go along with 44 tackles. Ranked 36th nationally with six interceptions, his 2010 interception total tied the Georgia Southern single-season record. Mora broke the single-season record for field goals in a season, finishing with 19 and posting a 90.5 field goal percentage (19-21). He posted a perfect 45-45 mark in PATs this season and extended his career consecutive streak of made PATs to 95, which is also a Georgia Southern program record.
