Georgia Southern Athletics take FLIGHT
STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics in collaboration with Statesboro Magazine bring a new title and design to this year's Georgia Southern Football Game program. The new title "FLIGHT" will be the official title and game program for all teams, making the association and awareness of Georgia Southern athletics consistent across all programs.
"With this year's football program, we worked with the athletics department to expand and improve the overall layout and design" said project manager Jenny Foss, who is also the editor for Statesboro Magazine. "This year we changed the name of the program from Endzone to FLIGHT. I think the new program is more exciting and colorful. We're excited."
Different features will appear in each program, including a souvenir page, and a special web URL provides bonus features and additional content. New pages showcase Paulson Stadium, Georgia Southern game day traditions and each National Championship team.
"We added special features like "Countdown to Kick-off" and we were able to highlight more of the University's sports facilities and the accommodations that Georgia Southern offers its fans and student-athletes," stated Foss. "We were able to give more space to the history and traditions of GSU football. The championship section devotes an entire page to each of the six national championships."
Other features that will change from week to week are Georgia Southern Players of the Week, a student-athlete profile and a social media page where selected fan comments from the Georgia Southern Athletic facebook and twitter pages will be published. Articles from different writers including "Mr. College Football" Tony Barnhart and Furman Bisher, the retired columnist from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, will appear later this season.
Fans can purchase FLIGHT at the University Bookstore Friday afternoons before home games and in the Paulson Stadium parking lot on game day. The cost for a program will be $4. The Eagle Men's and Women's Soccer teams will be selling the FLIGHT programs for the season opener against Savannah State.
