Military Appreciation Day Shout Outs
Georgia Southern Athletics will honor members of our Armed Forces at the October 13thhome football game against Wofford. The Eagles will be wearing dark blue camo jerseys with patches representing more than 100 different battalions, commands, units, ships, squadrons and submarines and helmets with special decals to represent all branches of the military.
As part of the day’s recognition, the Eagles would like to play “shout out” or patriotic messages on the videoboard from members of the military serving in active duty with their name, rank, unit, “deployed in” military base or location (if possible) and if a Georgia Southerng alum, year of graduation.
These messages can say “Proud of Eagle fans for supporting the military,” “Go Eagles,” “Hail Southern” or something along those lines, but most importantly we want to be able to show some of the individuals we are recognizing for their selflessness, sense of duty and courage.
Filming horizontally is better and a couple of seconds of “tape” before and after the recording would be awesome for the editing process, but we’ll try and make everything work.
