New Turf at Paulson Stadium Taking Shape
STATESBORO,

Work began in May on pulling up the old bermuda tift surface, re-grading the playing surface and lowering the crown from 16 to 10 inches. Director of Facilities Roger Inman has been pleased on how the surface has filled in.
“Without a doubt (I’m pleased). Early on I was not as happy as I am now, but there is no question over the past two weeks that Mother Nature, a little bit of prayer here and there, and a lot of fertilizer made it just start blossoming. So yes, we’re definitely where we need to be with the field,” stated Inman.
Inman and Tifton Turf Farms worked on the renovation project. The excavated turf was used to improve the aesthetics around Paulson Stadium and to build up the throws area at the soccer/track complex.
