Toys for Tots a huge success

Georgia Southern Basketball and Eagle Sports Marketing would like to thank Wal-Mart and all of our generous fans who have shown their support, both for our men's and women's basketball teams and for the Statesboro community, over this past week.

Thanks to your generosity, over $1,000 dollars in toy donations were received. All donations will stay locally and be given to Toys For Tots of Statesboro and will make great Christmas presents for children in the area.

"This year we exceeded our goal with over $1,000 dollars worth of toy donations collected during our two basketball games this past week," said Director of Eagle Sports Marketing Brent Jones. "That is a real tribute to our fans and show how much they care about our basketball teams at Georgia Southern and also the Statesboro community. All of our fans that donated a toy should be commended for their great effort in these tough economic times."

Georgia Southern Athletics and Eagle Sports Marketing will still collect toys until Dec. 12 at the offices of Eagle Sports Marketing in Hanner Fieldhouse.
