Georgia Southern Men's Basketball Plays Host to "Legends Classic"
STATESBORO, Ga. - Six tournament games for the "Legends Classic" over Thanksgiving weekend Friday-Sunday, (Nov. 27-29), will provide fans plenty of hoops action at Hanner Fieldhouse. The Georgia Southern Men's Basketball team welcomes Valparaiso, Arkansas-Fort Smith and Troy for the Statesboro sub-regional of the 12-team national tournament.
The opening night of the "Legends Classic" on Friday, Nov. 27th, Troy and Arkansas-Fort Smith meet in the 5 p.m. game with Valparaiso and Georgia Southern scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Valparaiso coach Homer Drew and the Crusaders take on the Troy Trojans in the 3 p.m. game with Georgia Southern and Arkansas-Fort Smith following with a 5:30 p.m. contest. Valparaiso and Arkansas face off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the final day of the tournament with Georgia Southern and Troy playing the late game at 3:30 p.m.
The Athletics Ticket Office will be closed Thanksgiving week, but the Athletics Ticket windows at Hanner Fieldhouse will open one hour prior to tipoff of the first game each day. Single-game tickets for adults are $8 each with youth tickets (ages 3-12) priced at $4 each. Tickets are good for admission to both games each day.
Five-game ticket flex plans are also an option for the "Legends Classic" games. Each flex plan is $25 and allows fans to use the five tickets, at a price of $5 a game, for considerable savings. The flex plan tickets may be used for any games or to bring five fans to a single game. The flex plan tickets are general admission and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Upper-level season tickets are available for $50 for both the "Legends Classic" games and the 10 home games after Thanksgiving weekend tournament as well. A general admission season ticket provides fans with a pass to all home games for $40.
The Athletics Ticket Office at 203 Lanier Drive is open Thursday and Friday of this week, Nov. 19-20 until 5 p.m. and for football game day Saturday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. or by calling 1-800-GSU-WINS (478-9467). Hanner Fieldhouse is located at 590 Herty Drive, at the corner of Fair Road (Ga. Hwy. 67) and Herty Drive.
