Eagles Look to Get Back on Track at Furman

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern closes out a two-game road swing on Thursday evening against Furman inside Timmons Arena at 7 p.m. Thursday's game can be heard on the Georgia Southern Radio Network locally on The Boomer 103.7-FM and online at GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com. Chris Blair will call the game with former head coach Frank Kerns providing expert analysis.

Sophomore Eric Ferguson (Statesboro, Ga.) had a career night against Wofford. He matched his career high with 26 points, matching the total he posted on his debut night last year against Notre Dame.

Georgia Southern is 6-10 overall with a 4-2 mark in league play dropped its last outing against Wofford on Saturday night, 88-63. The Terriers shot .615 from the field, the highest total allowed this season by the Eagles.

Furman enters Thursday's game after a dramatic 58-55 win over Western Carolina. Charlie Reddick made a three-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining to seal the victory. Brandon Sebirumbi had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead Furman on the night.

The all-time series with the Paladins is tied 22-22 with Furman winning four of the last five contests and both games in the 2010-11 season.

The Eagles return home on Saturday night to face College of Charleston for the first time in the 2011-12 season. The game is part of Georgia Southern's "Pack the House in Pink" doubleheader to benefit breast cancer research. Saturday's game starts at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3.com.
