Baseball's Game Tuesday Against Georgia Tech Cancelled

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern’s baseball game this Tuesday (April 15) against Georgia Tech has been cancelled. The teams will attempt to make the game up.

The funeral of Georgia Tech baseball player Michael Hutts will be held in his hometown of Dunwoody, Ga., at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Hutts, a junior pitcher, died Friday in Atlanta.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hutts family and the Georgia Tech family. I know this is a tough time for all,” said Georgia Southern Athletics Director Sam Baker. “I completely understand their request to cancel the game, it is in everyone’s best interest to find a different date to play.”

The two teams are scheduled to play a Wednesday afternoon (April 16) game at J.I. Clements Stadium, first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. The game will be televised live on CSS.
