The Braves are led by Kilby Perdomo who is batting .375 with a team-best 10 home runs and 49 RBI. Rodney Warren follows with a .358 batting average. Warren has four home runs and 37 RBI, while Kenneth Rowan leads on the base paths. Rowan has stolen 23 bases of 26 attempts.
Last Time Out
Georgia Southern swept the Furman Paladins, 3-0, to improve to 26-19 overall and 16-8 in Southern Conference play. The last regular season series won over the Paladins dated back to 2005 and the last series taken at Furman dated even further back to 2004 with the Eagles winning 2-of-3 contests, both in extra-innings.
Kyle Blackburn (Marietta, Ga.) recorded two home runs coming on doubleheader Saturday. Only six Eagle pitchers were used the entire weekend with each starter picking up another win on the year.
For the series, all Georgia Southern faculty and staff can receive up to four $1 tickets into each contest when a proper University ID is presented at the ticket window at J.I. Clements Stadium during Faculty and Staff Appreciation Weekend. Continuing all season, Sunday is Junior Eagle Club Day and, in addition, Bulloch County Recreation Department Day with all children wearing their baseball jerseys receiving free admission.
