STATESBORO - Georgia Southern head football coach
Chad Lunsford announced Monday the addition of the GATA Lifestyle Experience for the truest of the True Blue. Adults (25 and older) are invited to enroll in this inaugural event, scheduled for Aug. 2-4 on the Georgia Southern campus in Statesboro. Those who choose to attend will get a once-in-a-lifetime, behind-the-scenes look at the first three days of the 2018 GS Football Camp.
Attendees will check in on the afternoon of Aug. 2 when the team checks in and will be given 100 percent access to team meetings, staff meetings, practice, team meals, and more. Whatever the team is doing, you're a part of it.
"This is going to be an awesome way for members of Eagle Nation to see what goes on behind the scenes of camp and we're fired up to be able to host this event," Lunsford said. "We've put a lot of thought and preparation into making this a one-of-a-kind event and I think it's going to be a hit for those who join us in August!"
Proceeds from the GATA Lifestyle Experience will go toward the graphic enhancement project inside the Ted Smith Family Football Center, including the NFL Wall of Fame as well as the All-Americans and Eagle history sections.
The cost of the fantasy camp is $1,500 per participant ($500 non-refundable check due at registration). This does not include lodging, but does include meals and a social. Attendees will also receive Georgia Souther gear, recognition of their participation and a photo shoot in uniform to remember the event by. Other perks include a tour of the Smith Center and a ride on the legendary Yellow School Buses to Beautiful Eagle Creek for practice.
The fantasy camp roster is limited to 20 participants, and the registration deadline is July 15 to be assured accurate gear sizes, but fans may sign up all the way to check-in day provided that spots available.
