Steven Fisk Named PING All-Region

The junior picks up another honor in his historic season.

STILLWATER, Okla. – Georgia Southern junior Steven Fisk has been named PING All-Region for the Southeast region.

The 2018 Sun Belt Golfer of the Year, Fisk shot 72 or better in 26 of 33 rounds this season and finished in the top-10 in seven of 10 events, including three top-5s and two wins. He was a semifinalist for the Division I Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award, was named to the Haskins Award Watch List and the Ben Hogan Award Watch List and spent a majority of the season ranked in the top-10 for the U.S. Palmer Cup team. He became the first Georgia Southern golfer to earn an NCAA Regional at-large individual spot since Bo Fennell in 1991.

Named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week three times this season, Fisk became the 13th player in college golf history to shoot 60, reaching the mark in the second round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational in October, and he narrowly missed a 16-footer for birdie on his final hole for 59. His 60 was a school and course record, and he followed that round with a 67 to tie for third. Fisk shot 65 in the final round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship to help the Eagles advance to match play and won his semifinal match to lead GS into the finals.

Georgia Southern finished second in the Sun Belt Championship and returns seven lettermen, including Fisk, to the 2018-19 team.
