SANDESTIN, Fla. – Senior Archer Price shot a 69, while classmate Jake Storey carded a 70, and the Georgia Southern men's golf team jumped into second place following the second round of the Sun Belt Championship Monday at Raven Golf Club.

The top four teams after 54 holes of stroke play advance to match play Wednesday, and the match-play champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

The Eagles (+18) are 17 strokes behind leader Coastal Carolina (+1), which fired a 275, the best round of the day by nine strokes. GS is one shot ahead of Texas State (+19) and two clear of UTA (+20). Just seven strokes separate second place and seventh place.

Storey is in a two-way tie for fifth on the individual leaderboard, five shots behind leader Morgan Deneen of Coastal Carolina, who fired a 63 today. The medalist also receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, and Storey tied for first last year before falling to teammate Steven Fisk in a four-way playoff.

Jacob Bayer posted a 74, Luukas Alakulppi shot 75 and Fisk finished with a 78 today.

The Eagle counters combined to get to 7-under on the day before giving strokes back at the end of the round as GS combined to play 17 and 18 11-over-par.

Price shrugged off a tough day yesterday and shot 2-under on the front nine with birdies at 2 and 3. He added birdies on 12 and 15 and wound up shooting an even-par 36 on the back.

Storey made three consecutive birdies on 3, 4 and 5, and his birdie on 8 moved him to 4-under. He made par or better on eight holes on the back with a birdie at 14. 

Bayer birdied the first and shot par or better on eight holes on the front, adding a birdie at 7. The freshman made birdie at 12 and 14 to move to 2-under on the day before finishing with a 74. 

Alakulppi made par on seven holes on the front and birdied 11 and 15 on his way to a 75.

The Eagles are paired with Coastal Carolina and Texas State for tomorrow's third round and will tee off the first hole at 9:15 a.m. ET. The course is slated to play a little longer each day and will play 6,887 yards tomorrow.
