STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern Track and Field team traveled to Auburn, Georgia, the old home of head coach
Kelly Carter. The Eagles had a good showing and were exciting to get back on the track to continue preparations for the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.

The Blue and White added multiple top-25 finishes on day one and continued that success into day two.
Rebecca Parker finished just outside the top-25 in the 5000 meter event, while
Eugenia Tan captured a top-25 finish with a 5.63m long jump.
Alexis Gant joined the action on day one with a 41.92m throw in the Women's Hammer Throw.

During day two of competition the Eagles were able to capture top-20 finishes with
Sholonda Snell and
Ellunde Montgomery finishing 17
th and 18
th in the 800 meter event. The two finished with times of 2:15.30 and 2:15.33.
Rebecca Parker continued her return to the track with a 20:29.83 finish in the 5000 meter run.
Alexis Gant added to her top-20 finishes for the weekend with a 19
th place finish in the Discus event. She also added a 9
th place finish in the Shot Put event, while teammate
Jamelia Owens finished 8
th in the same event.
