Crawley Signs NLI With Georgia Southern Basketball

JUCO player comes from Columbia State

STATESBORO, Ga. –
Georgia Southern men's basketball coach Mark Byington announced Wednesday the signing of forward Isaiah Crawley to a National Letter of Intent (NLI) for the 2018-19 upcoming season. Crawley is a native of Ripley, Tennessee, and currently attends Columbia State C.C.

"Isaiah is a multi-dimensional player who impacts the game in many areas," Byington said. "He can score in many ways including making 3s, mid-range and attacking the rim. He is extremely athletic and has the ability to rebound at a high level. He will fit very well with returning players and the talented freshman entering our program next year."

The 6-foot-7 sophomore was a first-team selection by the TCCAA and is ranked the No. 49 JUCO player in the country by JucoRecruiting.com. Crawley was also named the TCCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week from the week ending Jan. 7 after scoring 27 points against Western Kentucky Technical College where he was 11 of 14 from the field, hit two 3-pointers, grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with two assists, a steal and a block in the win.

Crawley ranked 33rd in field goals and 35th in offensive rebounds and averaged 17.7 points per game in the National Junior College Athlete Association.

During his high school career, Crawley helped his team from West Tennessee claim a 26-8 record his senior season. He received all-state, all-district and all-tournament plaudits, while also being awarded the District 15-AA Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2016.

Crawley joins Trey Dawkins (6-9, F, Forest City, N.C.), Will Dillard (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day), Elijah McCadden (6-6, G/F, Rocky Mount, N.C.), David Viti (6-5, G/F, Buford, Ga.) and Calvin Wishart (6-1, G, Delano, Minn.) in the Eagles' 2018 class.
