KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Three Georgia Southern divers competed in the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on Monday, completing competition in the 1 Meter event. The Eagles' Gretchen Mossburg led the trio by finishing 36th with a score of 185.05.
Sara Rogers finished 37th with a score of 175.75, while Katie Knight finished 38th with a score of 173.25. The divers competed in the morning qualifying event, where the top 18 advanced to the afternoon finals.
"We didn't have a great day," Georgia Southern Head Diving Coach David Giambra said. "Our confidence levels were not the same as we had at the CCSA Championships. Tomorrow, we will aim to compete better on the 3 Meter."
The Eagles were among a select group of schools to qualify three or more divers for the NCAA Zone B, joining South Carolina (4), North Carolina (4), host Tennessee (3), Duke (3) and Florida International (2).Â
