CHARLESTON, S.C. - Georgia Southern Rifle entered the business end of the 2017-18 campaign on Saturday with a second place finish at the NCAA Qualifier, hosted by The Citadel. The meet is the final outing for the Eagles before the SoCon Championships, which is just a fortnight away.

Rosemary Kramer led the way for the Eagles, placing second overall with a 1,150 aggregate score. The junior shot 563 with the small bore and 587 in air rifle. Courtney Weekley placed third with a 1,149 aggregate score, posting a 568 in small bore and 581 in air rifle.

Lydia Odlin placed fifth in the match with a career-high 1,131 aggregate score. She also posted a career-best 556 in small bore with a perfect 100 in her first 10 shots at the prone position. In air rifle, she scored 575, just six off her career-best.

"Today was a rollercoaster of a day, we had a lot of highs and lows. The range broke down, and we had to move to split relays. Jennifer Middlebrook's gun broke after kneeling, and she had to switch over to another girl's rifle. Lydia Odlin, however, shot a career-best in small bore and aggregate with a 100 series. The team really maneuvered around all the curve balls that came to them, and came out with flying colors on the other side. I'm very proud of the team. We're ready for the Southern Conference Championships in two weeks."
