
Mandatory Meeting for Football Walk-on Candidates Set for Feb. 26

Schedule, physical, medical insurance and sports medicine documents required before participation
STATESBORO, Ga. – A mandatory information meeting for Georgia Southern students interested in walking on to the Eagle football team is set for Monday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Ted Smith Family Football Center, located at 205 Lanier Drive.
To be eligible to begin the process, a candidate must be enrolled at Georgia Southern this spring, taking at least 12 hours.
Documents required before the information meeting for each student include:
1) Copy of student's 2018 spring class schedule, verifying full-time enrollment
2) A copy of a physical exam conducted within six months of Feb. 27 tryout date (absolutely no exceptions)
3) Copy of the front and back of a medical insurance card
4) Signed originals of the required sports medicine forms available here
Candidates who do not present the required documents by the meeting on Feb 26 will not be permitted to try out at this time. For more information about the meeting, required documents or tryouts, contact gsfootball@georgiasouthern.edu.
Participants must meet NCAA eligibility standards and agree and comply with the Georgia Southern and NCAA drug testing policy.
