This is a first in a weekly series of blogs from the 2017 women's volleyball team. The first edition comes from red shirt senior Megan Chevalier.

You have been a member of this team for a fifth year now. So far, how is this team different than last year's, and give us an idea of what preseason was like.
"We've only been practicing for about twelve days now, but there is already a completely different feeling in the gym. The atmosphere has totally changed, and I love everything about it. I've seen freshmen work and fight through the different challenges they are faced with in their first year of a college sport. I've seen sophomores and juniors fighting for a starting spot, leaving everything they have out on the floor. I've seen seniors step up in their leadership roles and set high expectations for everyone on the team. We are working as one and holding each other accountable. Everyone comes in with a good attitude, ready to work hard for the person standing next to them. Together we are pushing each other to be better than we were the day before."

GS will open the campaign at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational next Friday. The Eagles host two tournaments - the Bash in the Boro Sept. 1-2 and the GATA Challenge Sept. 8-9.

Season tickets sales for Georgia Southern volleyball are currently underway, and one $40 season ticket covers general admission seating for all home matches. Parking is free.
