STATESBORO, Ga. – The True Blue Spirit Competition, a part of Paint the Town Blue, starts Thursday, Aug. 17. The competition began in 2014 as a way for local businesses in Statesboro and Bulloch County and Georgia Southern campus departments to showcase their True Blue spirit at the beginning of a new school year. Paint the Town Blue week will commence Sept. 4-9 with judging for the competition occurring on Sept. 5. Competition rules, prizes and online registration form are explained below.
Prizes will be given out to the top 4 overall businesses and campus departments. Businesses and campus departments should focus on exhibiting True Blue spirit. Judging criteria entails overall True Blue Spirit, use of Georgia Southern slogans, incorporation of Georgia Southern traditions, and creativity.
First place will be recognized at the first home football game and receive six (6) free tickets in the club level (includes complimentary beverages) and two (2) parking passes to the game
Second place will receive four (4) free tickets to the first home game
Third place will receive two (2) free tickets to the first home game
Fourth place will receive two (2) free tickets to the first home game
Businesses and campus departments are encouraged to decorate as much as possible which may or may not include store fronts, windows, yards, office space, countertops, etc. Remember, judging is based on True Blue spirit so no work area is too small to decorate
We strongly encourage organizations with marquee boards, windows, etc to put Paint the Town Blue up for everyone to see. You should know the rest of our slogans!
