Players Returning
Looking to bounce back from a three win season, the Aggies enter 2017 with talent and depth on both sides of the ball. Quarterback, Tyler Rogers, who was granted one final year of eligibility, has options to play catch with during the season. Gregory Hogan caught 32 passes last season, racking up 377 yards and three TDs, while teammate and fellow receiver Jaleel Scott caught 23 passes for 283 yards and five TDs. The Aggies' offense is also looking forward to a full season from running back Larry Rose III. The front seven shined at times last season for the Aggies. The defensive line returns Stody Bradley, who had 36 tackles in 11 games last season (8 UA 28 A), and Courtland Busby (12 UA 32 A). The linebacking unit returns Dalton Herrington and Terrill Hanks, who made numerous TFL in run defense, while the secondary returns virtually everyone.

Series History
Georgia Southern leads the series with the Aggies 3-0. The last meeting was Oct. 22, 2016, when the Eagles defeated the Aggies 22-19 in Las Cruces. This will be the last meeting between the two as Sun Belt members with NMSU leaving the conference, but the two have a home-and-home non-conference scheduled for 2018 and 2019.
