Wood on Luther: "We are so excited to have April join us. She brings experience and great leadership abilities as a setter, and she will also help lead us through her experiences in the locker room.  She's 6-foot-2, which allows her to be aggressive offensively. Our passers will have to adjust to her and pass the ball tighter for her to be able to maximize her setting abilities in our system. She can move the ball around and has good tempo and location. Our younger setters can learn a lot from her in the gym and off the court. She is already here taking classes and working out and setting in the gym on her own. I am very excited to see how the energy she brings into the gym will affect the others, especially playing the setting position. We can't wait to get her on the court on with us August 5th."

Georgia Southern finished third in the East Division in 2016, and the Eagles return five of their seven starters and 15 letterwinners to the 2017 team.
