Evan Challenger Named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week

Redshirt senior tossed a three hit shutout against Little Rock on Saturday
NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern Baseball's Evan Challenger has been named the Community Coffee Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week for games played April 24-30. Challenger tossed his first nine inning complete game shutout for the Eagles in the team's 5-0 win over Little Rock on Saturday night.
Challenger scattered three hits over the nine innings with seven strikeouts. He threw a career-high 117 pitches on Saturday night to improve to 2-4 on the season.
The award was the second weekly honor this season for Georgia Southern Baseball. Ryan Cleveland was named Sun Belt Player of the Week for the opening weekend of the season.
Georgia Southern travels this weekend to face Louisiana in a three game series. First pitch on Friday night is set for 7 p.m. (ET) / 6 p.m. (CT).
