STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern softball team travels to face Georgia Tech in a midweek contest on Wednesday evening. GS (21-19, 11-7 SBC) will play Georgia Tech (13-30, 6-12 ACC) in a single game on Wednesday at 5 p.m ET. The matchup will have live stats available through the website. Be sure to follow @GSAthletics_SB on twitter for updates throughout the game.

Georgia Tech comes into this midweek game with an overall record of 13-30. The Yellow Jackets recently snapped a three-game losing skid with a 10-5 win road against the University of Virginia. However, their success against UVA ended there, as Tech lost the next two games of the series. The Eagles haven't had much luck over the years against the Jackets, not earning a win since 2009 and suffering a 12-52 all-time record against them.

Senior infielder Jessica Kowalewicz is leading the offense for the Jackets batting .328 and also earning seven home runs, 10 doubles, 33 runs, and 42 hits on the year. Kowalewicz went 1-for-2 with a pair of runs and three walks in Tech's most recent win against UVA. Sophomore Katie Krzus is also carrying the offense, batting .287 and racking up 29 hits and 17 runs so far. Krzus had a successful outing against UVA as well, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs and a home run. In addition, she managed to go 2-for-3 with a run against No. 19 Georgia.

Junior Emily Anderson (5-10) is the veteran in the circle for the Jackets, putting up a 4.04 ERA through 20 starts and appearances. Anderson recently struck out four batters and allowed five runs on nine hits in a complete-game effort against the Cavaliers. Sophomore Jenna Goodrich (5-9) is throwing a 5.85 ERA through 10 starts and 24 appearances. During Tech's last time out Goodrich kept the score low, despite the loss, relieving the starter with runners on second and third with no outs. She effectively ended UVA's rally with two strikeouts and a ground out to end the inning.

The Eagles are coming off of back-to-back series sweeps over Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State. The six game winning streak allows the Eagles to sit at 21-19 overall, 11-7 in conference play. Senior Emily Snider is leading the offense with a .381 batting average, 32 RBIs and ten home runs. Mekhia Freeman is second on the team with a .331 average, and right behind her is Lydia Witkowski with a .306 average. Dixie Raley is 12-13 in the circle throughout 136.1 innings of work with a 3.03 ERA, and Kierra Camp is 7-6 with a 4.35 ERA in 93.1 innings.
