STATESBORO, Ga. – Coming off another successful weekend in Jacksonville, Florida the Track and Field team will now head to Columbia, South Carolina to compete in the Gamecock Invitational this weekend. This will be the second to last meet that the Eagles will compete in before heading to the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships on May 13
th and 14
th, in Arlington, Texas.

"As the season is winding down, this meet at the University of South Carolina just gives us another opportunity to compete against the best talent in the nation." Said head coach
Kelly Carter. "I know our young ladies are ready so I'm excited about it."

The event will host nearly 750 student athletes from many school across the country. Schools that will be in attendance Saturday are as follows: Alabama State, Allen, Armstrong State, Army West Point, Benedict, Bob Jones, Campbell, Claflin, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Columbia International, Converse, Delaware State, George Mason, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Hampton, Illinois, Kingsborough CC, Liberty, Limestone, NC State, Paine, St. Andrew's, Savannah State, South Carolina State, USC Beaufort, and Voorhees.

The Eagles will look to move up the Sun Belt rankings in Columbia after last week's success on the track.
Kelsey Arnold broke another school record in the Hammer Throw. Her 51.76m toss broke the previous school record which she held.
Desiree Blunt was able to move into 13
th place after taking fifth in the 200 meters.
